Apologises your web site keepers have failed miserably to keep you up to date with the next series of dives!

This is a mid week special with Sovereign Diving based in Seahouses. Back to the old haunts of the Farnes and with luck some decent weather!

What more could any Dive Club ask for fantastic marine life, last time due to the look do not take policy it was underwater supermarket time, never seen so many lobsters on ledges like underwater shelves! Loads of wrecks and seals to keep us company roll on next week!

Jan is the organiser if anybody interested we still have spare places

Membership prices frozen for a further year

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk/

Just a quick Hello and time to get ready for the Diving season! The Club has had the Annual General Meeting, elected its Committee and now ready to take on 2012. Firstly membership has been frozen at last years prices making the Club extremely good value. If you are going to join with your son or daughter new price structure in place to make it  half the price to help them get started. We are looking to recruit some new members and arrange a training programme soon. Why not give us a ring and register your interest? Plenty of time to work in the pool now and get ready for those warmer months. Are we going diving this year-absolutely! Kevin is trying to get us started with a few days in Estertit at the end of April, we already have a trip booked to Poole and Scotland but these are just for starters. Lets have some ideas of where and when? We have the pool at Fit City every Monday evening from 08.00 to 09.00 with plenty of space to train safely and get fit Please use it!

Diving 2012

The Club is already looking to next year and some exciting diving!

Why not come and join us? Meet down at the baths and get fit, or try out your gear ready for the next weekend? All welcome new and old members.

This Club might be small but we have considerable experience, knowledge and people who want to dive. We do not spend every weekend training at a quarry, we arrange trips to cater for all experiences! We are a Club and should be proud that we have organisers who ensure the diving is for Club Members!

Looking forward to our next event is the Christmas Bash which again is being held at the Moorside in Disley (who knows what the disco theme will be this year? after the Abba tribute band last time. The venue was chosen by the majority as an excuse to have a night away and a couple of drinks for a very reasonable price, thanks as ever to Julia for the organising. We will folow this with the AGM in the New Year and then to the diving.

Rathlin Island

A quick thanks to Graham for organising this trip! Long weekend diving with Aquaholic's based in Balllycastle. 14 Club Members and ferrys to catch as well as accommodation is never easy. Delivered on budget an excellent trip to round the year off. Diving from two ribs proved interesting especially as only one had a liift! The pub could not have been closer and proved a more than adequate place to debrief the days diving. We even managed some sight seeing (Giants Causeway etc) The two signature dives are the wreck and a very scenic wall which in places disappears into 100m+ depths. Certainly at times not for the faint hearted dealing with the swell and currents. The weather at times could have been kinder but at least did not prevent us diving.

Roll on the next trip

Diving Loch Fyne 17th June 2011

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk/

well 12 brave souls headed off on Thursday 17th to be in situ for four days diving with Malcolm at Loch Fyne Charters to try out his new boat Big Blue. The start did not look promising a pub which shut at 21.50pm and not enough beds for the number of divers (great!) However problem solved back to our old haunts, drinking to after midnight and one very sore head the next day (who could that of been?)

Malcolm rang to say the weather was not promising but we could get the gear sorted and dive in the Loch.

First dive on a wall, good vis but weather terrible, so much so afternoon dive cancelled, back to the pub then!

Majorca March 2011

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk/

Well Fred did the Club proud with organising a three day diving trip to the top of the Island! I knew we were off to a good start when we were collected from the airport by the Dive Centre who deposited us outside our rather nice hotel on the very front at 12.30pm! Hotel bar was shut but was that a problem? Within minutes a bar had been located, beers bought and 3.00am came and went! leisurely start the following day after knocking up the night porter! took us to the Dive Centre and out for a test dive in quite windy conditions, all OK the visability was excellent 30m+ water a warm 14 degrees in dry suits (except Wayne and the Dive guide) most people were achieving minimum 45 minute dives looking at Octopus, Congars, Caves and Tunnels.

Loch Fyne 17th-20th JUNE 2011

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk/

This is an opportunity to experience this fantastic part of Scotland. We have dived with Malcolm before on' Little Blue' and really enjoyed what Loch Fyne had to offer! This time around Malcolm has now created 'Big Blue' which enables him to take trips ou, to new sites which have not been over dived due to its remote location. Will try and keep costs down to a minimum but travelling so far make the best of a long weekend. Deposit £100 see Nigel  .

Isle of Man

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk

Just back from the Isle of Man and had to put a few words on the web site. Brilliantly organized by Graham to make up numbers we took Ronnie and John from Westhoughton Branch who were great company.

A team of nine divers we based ourselves with Port St Mary Divers who are a father and son team who I would highly recommend! Excellent boat and accommodation in Port Erin which was a large detached house with plenty of room and within striking distance of the local pubs and restaurants we had eight dives from scenic to wrecks and an amazing drift dive through the calf of man where I discovered I could run out of line on my SMB we were moving so fast.

Diving / Baths New Members

http://www.salfordsac.org.uk

Helllo from the grey haired one! The very Good news is we are now back on track, the baths have re-opened for our old slot on a Monday from 08.00-09.00! Please come down and have a look at the difference! The entrance is now at the bottom on the right hand corner , mixed changing rooms and entry to the pool through the old ladies entrance.

If you have not been swimming or dragged the gear out of storage now is the time before we start booking more trips!

Isle of Man coming up this next weekend, Malta arranged for September and St Abbs next month and Anglesey trips in the pipeline. Well St Abbs would have been good this weekend if it had not been blown out! but with the weather improving and English Football Team rubbish bin the football and drag your diving gear out.
